Stitching Story Bags - A Magical Day

The Stitching Story Bags Retreat on October 6, 2025 in Monterey is ready for you. It is a true privilege to host a collaboration between Lily Turner of Wishbone Yarn in South Africa and Jaki Canterbury of slowfiber in Monterey, California - two creatives that breathe beauty and love in every breath they take.

Inspired by their life experiences, they have devised a creative exercise that is guaranteed to open your eyes, hands and hearts to a deeper and more expansive way of making. They will guide us through the creation of a story bag that begins with inspiration, incorporates selecting materials that reflect our intentions and follows through with the making of a practical object. And just to top it off, we conclude in a knitting circle with a related knitting project to keep the juices flowing.

The goal is meaningful, calm, supportive creative time together in an historic setting with nourishment for our bodies as well as our souls. Joyful shared experiences that come to life in a small group spending a day of making with each other.
