A chance to escape and learn
Pacific Knitting Retreats is the brainchild of Gayle Ravenscroft, a Northern California knitter, when she was working and teaching at her LYS, and by appointment with private students in their homes.
An Instagram stalker, she dreamed of all the knitters and all the places to escape and knit and learn as they scrolled across the screen every day.
Then the realization dawned that she lived in one of the 'places' and was surrounded by all of the 'knitters'. So ... why not host a series of retreats right in her own Nor Cal backyard! She invited some of her favorite people, they said 'yes' and Pacific Knitting Retreats was born. After three lovely Retreats in 2018, Pacific Knitting Retreats is all set to bring more and varied learning opportunities to knitters in Northern California in 2019.
Along with Retreats that span multiple days, there will be one day events that will focus on specific subjects and presented by expert teachers, a varied teaching schedule for Gayle and pop ups of favorite yarns and designers. And all of these will continue to express all the qualities that have motivated us in 2018. Small groups in lovely surroundings, well nourished and supported to learn new skills and deepen our knowledge.
I hope that you will find a reason to stay connected in 2019 - and that one of our events will make its way onto your schedule this year.
I have found great joy in meeting and working with new (to me) knitters and yarn folks; and strengthening my connection with my existing network. I am grateful for the support and encouragement we have shared with each other. I am excited to continue to grow together in 2019.
